This tour will acquaint you with the fates of people, who for centuries occupied the biggest Jewish ghetto in Europe, and with the events that shaped the lives of these people-positively or negatively.Are you interested why the Old New Synagogue has such a strange name, why rabbi Loew created Golem or what it means to be a court Jew? Your guide will also explain why jews were buried up to ten layers deep in the ghetto cemetery, why flowers are not brought to jewish grawes but stones instead. With the help of archival photographs you will see how this part of Prague looked like at the time when the Jewish ghetto was abolished. During the tour we will also point out places that influenced the life and works of one of Prague,s most famous and important writer Franz Kafka.
